Frequently asked questions

The short answers to what parents ask us most.

  • What is Afterbell?

Afterbell is a small library of practical things to say and do when a conversation at home feels hard. Think screen time, friendship trouble or worry about school. Each topic breaks down into short strategies you can try the same evening.

  • Is the advice official?

The guidance draws on MOE's Parenting for Wellness resources and is written in the same spirit. Still, Afterbell is a prototype and is not an official MOE service. Treat it as a starting point, not a ruling.

  • Is AskBell AI, and can it get things wrong?

Yes on both counts. AskBell's replies are generated by AI, so they can be incomplete or simply mistaken. Read them as a suggestion from a well-meaning friend, and check anything that matters with your child's school, a doctor, or a counsellor.

  • Is what I type stored?

This is a prototype, so share nothing you would mind being read. There is no login and no account, and conversations are not linked to your identity. They are not private records either, so keep names and personal details out of them.

  • Who is Afterbell for?

Parents and carers of primary-school children, roughly lower primary through upper primary. You can switch between the two stages at any time, and nothing stops you reading the other one.

  • What should I do if something urgent is happening?

AskBell is not for emergencies and cannot respond in the moment. If your child is in danger or in crisis, contact your child's school, a helpline, or emergency services straight away.
